About Me

My photo
Hello there from sunny Nth Qld in Australia...the luckiest country on the planet AT THE MOMENT! I'm retired and recently widowed. I love to travel . Airplane, boat, walking but mostly by means of my motorcycle. I love to garden too. I have a wee small doggie named George and an old cat named Kitty. Two years on from Tim passing we three have almost sorted out living without him. I think it will be 'almost' forever more. Can't see me being over it completely if you know what I mean. I intend to fill these blogs with my journey on my bike.Too much has happened in the space between today and my last blog. This is my last ditch effort to revive my creative writing skills.

What do you see?

Comments about this painting caused much concern for the lovely lady who bought it. She thought what a lovely scene...friendship, sharing a meal and company. Yeah right! Much laughter as 9 out of 10 people have said the same thing. Can't go into too much detail about the comments for fear of sounding politically incorrect! What do you think? Whats the first image that comes to mind? All I am going to say is New Zealanders must be very naive !

I have found my direction in life!

I have at last found a direction; a path to follow. Many of you will question my chosen vocation. You can see by my joyous demeanour that all is well in my world! Bless you all my children.

Me a poet?

Every now again I produce a poem that I am happy with...I mean really happy. I either have to be in the depths of despair or the other end of the scale unfortunately. The free verse below came from a WITS writing exercise when we simply listened to music for a few minutes and wrote what came. I guess I was in a jolly mood that night!

Grand Opening

It’s cool. Stars are still visible in the black moonless pre-dawn. A light dew has formed in the chill of the night.
Today will be my first display- an unfolding-a fragrant exhibition
For all the world to see and rejoice.

At last the sun has warmed my petals
And encouraged me to stretch and open.
The dew now gone I bask
In the strong heat of the noon day sunshine.

Oh how beautiful I am!
See my vibrant gold-
Sniff my subtle scent.
Marvel in my magnificence.

It’s cooler now-the sun has faded.
There’s only the light from the galley window
My only stage for an encore
Oh I did make a grand opening – Me a rose!
